EXPERIENCE

As a founder of Thermal Remediation Services, Inc. (TRS) Mr. Beyke is responsible for leading the engineering of subsurface electrical resistance heating remediation systems including three and six phases as well as new technology development. His responsibilities also include providing operations management and direction for the further commercialization of electrical resistance heating. With over 15 years of engineering experience, Mr. Beyke is a recognized expert in the development, design and deployment of innovative in-situ remediation technologies.

While at Current Environmental Solutions, LLC Mr. Beyke led the engineering effort resulting in the successful transition of the electrical resistance heating from the laboratory to the commercial marketplace. He is primarily responsible for engineering improvements to the technology that make it possible to safely conduct electrical resistance heating in public areas. In addition, Mr. Beyke is responsible for engineering improvements to the technology resulting in the successful cleanup of light non-aqueous phase liquid (LNAPL). He has also been largely responsible for developing process improvements that allow price reductions for the technology.

As a member of the In-Situ Thermal Treatment Advisory Panel (ITTAP), Mr. Beyke has worked with experts from the US EPA, academia and the US Army Corps of Engineers to evaluate and rate the effectiveness of thermal technologies to treat a wide range of environmental remediation challenges on EPA managed sites. In addition, Mr. Beyke was the principal author of the electrical resistance heating section of the Engineering Manual for In Situ Thermal Remediation by the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Mr. Beyke was responsible for the design and procurement of Terra Vac's extensive fleet of remediation equipment. That fleet included vacuum and injection blower packages, water/vapor separators, catalytic and thermal oxidizers, and water treatment systems. Several of his design ideas are now standard features on commercial environmental oxidizers.

Mr. Beyke has provided design and engineering supervision on over 100 soil and groundwater remediation projects. He has design and operations experience with soil vapor extraction, bioventing, air sparging, dual vapor extraction, pneumatic soil fracturing, chemical oxidization, bioremediation, steam injection and electrical resistance heating systems. He was the project manager for the world's largest chlorinated VOC clean-up effort, a project that was commended by President Clinton as a model for the application of new technologies to reduce environmental remediation time and costs.

Mr. Beyke was the principal engineer and project manager of the first successful in situ remediation of pooled dense non-aqueous phase liquid (DNAPL) at a site located in Skokie, Illinois. He was also the principal engineer and project manager for the first successful commercial remediation using electrical resistance heating and multi-phase extraction for the heat enhanced recovery of LNAPL.
